# Minecraft | How to Change the Java Version (8, 11, 16, 17 and 18)

| Some versions of minecraft require a specific java version, here you can change which you want to use. The changes will only take effect after you restart your server.

1. Go to your [https://panel.skynode.pro/](https://panel.skynode.pro/) and select the server you want to change the docker image of.

2. On the Top Right, Select **Startup**.

3. On the right side, you should be able to choose between Java 8, 11 and 16.

Java 8  = 1.8.x-1.12.x
Java 11 = 1.16.x
Java 16 = 1.17.x
Java 17 = 1.18.x
Java 18 = 1.20.x

4. Once you choose the version you want to use, restart your server.

**All done! You should now be able to change your Java Version**
