# Installing a server jar file for a Minecraft server
||| This guide will be walking you through making a clean install (It's less likely to cause problems).

**Step 1: Download Your Desired Jar File**
Begin by visiting the official Minecraft website or a trusted server hosting platform to download the specific jar file for the Minecraft server version you want.

**Step 2: Access Your Server Panel**
Log in to your dedicated server hosting panel, which provides you with a user-friendly interface to manage and customize your Minecraft server. This panel is your control center for server-related operations.

**Step 3: Navigate to the 'Files' Section**
In your server panel, you'll find a sidebar with various options. Click on 'Files' to access the file management section.

**Step 4: Delete Existing Files**
Select all the existing files in the file manager and then click "Mass Delete." This ensures a clean slate for your new installation.

**Step 5: Upload Your Jar File**
Now, simply drag and drop the previously downloaded jar file into the file manager section of your server panel.

**Step 6: Wait for Upload Completion**
Allow some time for the jar file to finish uploading. You'll know it's done when the progress bar turns green. Afterward, refresh the page to ensure the changes take effect.

**Step 7: Rename the Jar File**
Click on the three dots next to the uploaded jar file, and select 'Rename.' Replace all the existing text with the exact name "server.jar" and press Enter. This step is crucial to ensure that the server recognizes the file correctly.

**Step 8: Start Your Server**
Return to the 'Console' page within your server panel and click the 'Start' button. Your Minecraft server will begin running with the newly installed jar file.**Step 3:** Click on 'Files' in the sidebar.

# Installing a Server jar using the jar installer

**Step 1:** Go to the Skynode panel page: https://panel.skynode.pro

**Step 2:** Click on `Files` tab in the sidebar.

**Step 3:** Select all the files, then click "Mass Delete".

**Step 2:** After that, click on the `Configuration` tab - Under that will be the `jar installer`.

**Step 3:** Here you will find a selection of working jar files that you can use, click on the version and type you want to install.

**Step 4:** Click the `Install` button
