# Valheim | How to change the password of your Valheim server

# How to change the password of your Valheim server

**Step 1.** Go to the [panel](https://panel.skynode.pro/) and press on the server you'd like to change the password on.

**Step 2.** Go to your `Startup` in your server panel.

**Step 3.** Look out for a box called `Server Password`.

**Step 4.** The default password is `secret`, change it to whatever you want it to be.

**Step 5.** Scroll down and press `Save Settings`.

**Step 6.** Restart your server.

**Great work! Your Valheim server is now protected!**
