# Valheim | How to make yourself an admin on your Valheim server

# How to make yourself an admin on your Valheim server

**Step 1.** Log in to your Valheim server and press `F2` on your keyboard to view the player list. Copy the ID of the player(s) you'd like to give the admin to.

**Step 2.** Go to the [panel](https://panel.skynode.pro/) and press on the server you'd like to make the player an admin on.

**Step 3.** Go to `File Manager`.

**Step 4.** Go to **/home/container/.config/unity3d/IronGate/Valheim** and look out for something called `adminlist.txt`.

**Step 5.** Press and edit the `adminlist.txt` file. **One ID per line**! *(Note: IDs listed in the screenshot are randomly generated)*

**Step 6.** Scroll down and press `Save Settings`.

**Step 7.** Restart your server.
