Project Zomboid | How to Make your Server Private

Private Setting

  1. First, you will have to make your server Private
  • If you haven't made your server Public, you can skip the step below.

  1. Go to your File Manager > .cache > Server > Open Project.ini
  • The server's name is Project so your file depends on the name of your server.

  1. Find Public=true and make it Public=false and click Save
  • By turning this to false, it means your server cannot be seen on Steam.

Setting up a Password

  • A password will not allow any players to connect on your server without it.

  1. Go to your File Manager > .cache > Server > Open Project.ini
    • The server's name is Project so your file depends on the name of your server.

  1. Locate Password= and fill it with the password that you want.

Example, Skynode#1 is the password

  1. Click Save and Restart the Server. Clients must know this password to join the server.
