How to download or upload your Palworld world file

This step-by-step tutorial will guide you through how to download or upload your Palworld server world file. This can be useful if you want to create a backup of your server world or are moving to Skynode.

Please note that it is only possible to transfer the world file, at this time it is not possible to transfer user data so players will loose their progress.

Before starting this tutorial, make sure your server is offline.

On the control panel find the file manager and locate your Palworld saved game. It will be in the following directory Pal » Saved

Example how the save data looks

From here it will be a bit different if you want to download or upload your world file.

For Downloading
If you want to download the world file you can press the three dots next to the file name, and then selecting archive. This will compact your world files in a .zip file that you can download to your PC. Once the new zip file is created you can click the three dots once again and select download.

For Uploading a .zip world
If you want to upload your world file there are two options to do that. The first option is if you have a .zip file of your world already or can make a zip file on your PC. In this case you can upload the file directly to the server by dragging and dropping the file on the website, or using the upload button. Once the file is uploaded you can press the three dots at the end of the file. You will see the option unarchive, once the file has been unzipped you should see the file in your directory as displayed in the image above.

For Uploading a world in a folder
The second option would be to use SFTP, this software is designed to transfer files from your PC to the panel. If you do not have the possibility to make a .zip file of your world or if your world exceeds 100MB you can use this method. We have a comprehensive tutorial on how to use SFTP already. You can check out this tutorial on how to sure SFTP by clicking here

All done! You can now start up your server again.

If you do not have a Palworld server with Skynode yet, you can find our plans and pricing here
