How to change your terraria vanilla/tModLoader server version
Step 1: Access the Startup Page
- On the game panel, locate an option or tab labeled "Startup". Click on it to access the server startup configuration.
Step 2: Change Terraria Version
- On the Startup page, scroll down to find the "Variables" section.
- Depending on whether you have a Terraria Vanilla server or a tModLoader server, you will see different settings:
- It is crucial to enter the correct version number for a successful update. A single wrong or missing digit in the version number can result in issues.
- Click on the field below "Terraria Version" or "tModLoader Version" and enter the correct version number you want to install.
Step 3: Update Terraria Version and Install
- Select Your Current Server Type: Just above the
Variables
section, choose your existing server type from the options.
- Note: If you're planning to switch server type, please refer to the initial note provided at the beginning of this guide.
- Wipe Files (Optional): In the same
Server type
settings section, find theWipe Files
option. Tick this when changing server types or downgrading the terraria version for a clean installation.
- Install: Once you've selected your current server type and, if needed, wipe files, click the
Install
button.
- The installer will begin, downloading and installing the chosen Terraria version.
